Location
Manatee Technical Institute is uniquely situated on a beautiful 30-acre campus in West Bradenton, Florida. The setting and close proximity to Bayshore High School and State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota, helps to facilitate crossover training and provides a wonderful clustered backdrop for academic excellence.
On October 16, 2001, the School Board of Manatee County opened the doors of the Richard T. Conard M.D. Medical and Dental Building on Manatee Technical Institute's new East Campus. The fifty thousand square-foot building houses state-of-the-art medical and dental teaching laboratories, lecture rooms, offices, storage, a media resource room, and a teaching auditorium.
On December 17, 2007, Manatee Technical Institute’s East Campus officially welcomed a Fire Science Training Facility and burn tower to the mix. It includes classrooms, offices, showers, apparatus/ equipment storage and three fire trucks. The burn tower provides students with hands-on fire fighting experience and practical skills training including entering live fires, climbing ladders, lugging hoses and performing search and rescue.
On November 17, 2008, Manatee Technical Institute broke ground on an exciting new Law Enforcement Academy. The academy will house high-tech equipment and provide first-rate training for Manatee County’s up-and-coming officers. Students will gain experience in a staging room, a simulator room (which includes a Fire Arms Training Simulator and Driving Simulator), a courtroom, a weight/cardio room and a defensive tactics room.
